Apricot Rail and My Majestic Star Live Review

June 24th, 2009

Last week’s Apricot Rail and My Majestic Star gig at the Velvet Lounge, Perth, has received a glowing write-up in Faster Louder. Check the review in full at the Faster Louder site.

Apricot Rail’s self-titled debut album is out next week on the 4th of July. Until then you can grab their single ‘Pouring Milk Out The Window’ for free from the HSR Store. Listeners of Triple J’s wonderful Home and Hosed program would have heard the single get a bunch of rotations and can expect to hear spins of the album there in the coming weeks.

My Majestic Star are currently working on a new album, due for release later in the year. Meanwhile, both their previous albums and the Fining EP are available from the HSR Store.

HC-B “Soundcheck For A Missing Movie” – I Love Sicilia

June 23rd, 2009

Excerpt (translated from the Italian): “HC-B are five Italian guys from Catania that have been playing together for 10 years… a fusion of sound and images, long phrasings, evident rhythms. Their music is independent rock; in fact, there aren’t any pop motifs nor banal verse/refrain structures, moving away from any known definitions toward its own universe.”
