Dilatazione Bio

Dilatazione

Dilatazione was born in Italy in 1999 from a trio of instrumental cinephile rockers. In 2002 their third demo, Fotogrammi, received enthusiastic reviews from Italian newspapers, and fanzines like Blow up, Rockit, Sodapop, and Movimenta. In 2003 a second guitarist joined the group, collaborating in the composition of new songs and fleshing out their melodically complex sound.

The band have played hundreds of concerts across Italy, developing a formidable live reputation and integrating their performances with video. Over the last two years, Dilatazione have also played at national and international festivals like Sete Sois Sete Luas, No Silenz Fest, Cinema Blast, and Rockcalvi.

Dilatazione’s new album Too Emotional For Maths, released in collaboration with Italian label Slowmotionpenguino, was recorded and mixed in October 2005 at Alpha Dept Studio in Bologna by Amaury Cambuzat (Ulan Bator/Faust) and Francesco Donadello (Giardini di Miro). Dilatazione’s Alessio Gioffredi is now also the new drummer of Ulan Bator.
