Moongoat Bio
Moongoat is Jeremy Hicks (Thou Gideon, Enargeia, Low Budget Invaders) and Simon Bennett (Wiggle, Kurrel the Raven, Kwook!).
Moongoat was convened to provide a soundtrack for the fashion event Bamboozle in 2002 in collaboration with Ivan Bannon (FAD, Elvis Penis). Live jams at the Studio Concours D’Elegance between February and October 2002 ranged from trippy beat-based electronic music to dense essays in atmosphere.
Perhaps as an unconscious response to Eno’s experiments with music for imaginary films, this is music as film. Following in the slipstream of modern ambient luminaries Stars of the Lid, Moongoat work to create something larger than the drone. These compositions are deceptively complex and chart a hidden trajectory that is never quite apparent until their end.
