Rich Bennett
Rich Bennett has been thinking about music in supermarkets, elevators, and doctor’s offices since his early childhood. When Bennett, chief songwriter and keyboardist in indie-pop band Monocle, began to make his own music, much of it seemed to come from the first delightfully soporific melodies he heard while riding around in his mom’s shopping cart as a child. Though informed by the familiar, Bennett’s compositions are far from ordinary. Instead they breathe a gentle yet strange new life into the everyday.
